About Charis

Born in the darkness and dampness of a south west coast fall, most of my life and career has been spent in Vancouver, B.C. on the unceded traditional territories of the xÊ·mÉ™θkÊ·É™y̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sÉ™lilwÉ™taɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Working here, with others, is what I cherish most about my career.
During my over 20 years in media I have demonstrated the ability to continuously adapt and acquire new skills, and I have never been afraid to try new things in a rapidly changing media landscape. As a result, I have developed a broad range of experiences and expertise that I use to collaborate and create with others.

I am comfortable in traditional and new media environments, and have a wealth of experience making content that can be used in a variety of spaces. I love to work collaboratively; whether it's on a show, with a team, or interviewing and meeting new people, my best work is done with others. I am always looking for the next story to tell or project to build that in turn creates something unexpected and wonderful.

My local experience includes co-hosting four Vancouver morning radio shows, working at CBC Vancouver on radio, television, and streaming broadcasts, and my current role as a multimedia consultant with Coldwater Communications. Through all of these varied experiences, I have always focused on approaching the stories I tell with empathy, warmth, and humour when the content allows.

My passion for storytelling and connecting with people, and my love of this place we call home, continues to drive me to create. If you share those same passions, and you’d like to explore working together, get in touch.
